The people of Agona East have lauded their Member of Parliament, Hon. Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyer, for her unwavering commitment to development and welfare in the constituency.

Dubbed “Obaatanpa” by her constituents, the MP was recently praised for multiple interventions including financial support for over 2,000 widows and widowers at Agona Namanwura, where she also announced a soft loan scheme with flexible repayment terms. She has also supported five basic schools with roofing sheets, cement, dual desks, and computers to aid teaching and learning.

Earlier this year, she commissioned a Gaming Commission office in Agona East to boost regulatory enforcement and create local jobs, earning her the title “Queen of Commissioning” from residents.
Hon. Sawyer, who has represented Agona East since 2013, continues to be commended by community leaders and the District Chief Executive for her hands-on approach to development.
