Ghanaian actress Beverly Afaglo has died after a two-year battle with cancer, her family and management have announced.
She passed away peacefully in the early hours of Sunday, 24th May 2026, at the International Maritime Hospital in the Greater Accra Region. She was 42.
A statement issued on behalf of the family by Cine-God Studios said her death has left them in “profound sorrow”, adding that she had fought the illness for two years before her passing.
The actress, who is widely regarded as one of the most recognisable faces in Ghana’s film industry, leaves behind two children.
Her management, Cine-God Studios Cine-God Studios, said arrangements have been made for a one week observation ceremony to honour her life and legacy.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, 30th May 2026, from 1500 to 1900 GMT at the Green Flavour Events Centre in Community 9, Tema.
Family sources say the ceremony is expected to draw colleagues from the film industry, corporate figures, and members of the public paying tribute to her contribution to Ghanaian cinema.
The family has asked for privacy as they grieve and prepare for her final funeral rites, which are expected to be announced in the coming days.
In the statement, the family also thanked supporters, colleagues, and well wishers for their messages of condolence and solidarity during what they described as a deeply painful period.
Cine-God Studios said further details of the funeral arrangements would be communicated later.
