A 61-year-old traditional healer has been found unconscious with multiple injuries in a bush at Assin Kushia in the Assin North District of the Central Region, following a three-day search.
The victim, identified as Christian Etse Dosey, a palm wine tapper and traditional healer, was discovered on Friday, June 12, 2026, bearing signs of a suspected violent assault.
According to reports, Mr. Dosey went missing on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, after informing his family that he was going to deliver herbal medicine to a client undergoing treatment.
He, however, failed to return home, sparking concern among relatives and residents.
His disappearance triggered a community-led search operation, during which traditional authorities and residents organized search parties and performed customary rites, including drumming, in an effort to locate him.
After three days of intensive searching, he was found lying unconscious in a bush with multiple injuries, including wounds to the neck, a fractured arm, and other injuries suspected to have been inflicted by unknown assailants.
He was first rushed to a clinic at Assin Kushia but was later referred to the St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu, where he is currently receiving treatment.
The case has since been reported to the Assin Praso District Police Command, where investigations have been launched into the incident.
